How does it work?

The market report is based on the job titles requested. They are matched against current market levels based on company size, industry, and labor market. The assessment is based on the differences between your current salaries and the market.

Ready? Get your report: As easy as 1-2-3!

Step 1: Data Input Form

The reporting form is a spreadsheet with instructions on how to report the titles and salaries of the jobs you would like to be market-priced. Download the data input form here. Your report will be based on the number of job titles you specify. To produce viable results, we generally recommend that companies report no less than half of the jobs within their company. At this time, you may include the employee’s gender or ethnicity if you would like a breakout report.

Step 2: Comp Report Form

Once it is ready, use the Comp Report Form to upload your data file and answers to a short set of questions regarding your compensation program.

Step 3: Get your Results

Your input will be confirmed via email by a Blue Whale associate. Generally, your market report is available within 5 to 7 business days. If you would like more information about our small business market report or would like to schedule a call with an associate, write us at support@bluewhalecomp.com.

  • We also need company size, location, and employment size.

10. Our organization has a very unique set of titles and functions. Is that a problem?
  • We generally can match over 60% of classifications within an organization. If the titles within your company yield a lower number, we will contact you and discuss possible solutions.
11. How do we know if the data is valid?
  • Blue Whale has access to multiple compensation data sources. The data is constantly curated to maximize the accuracy of our reports.
12. Bonus information is essential to us. Is that part of the report?
  • Yes. We provide bonus information that will allow the client to pinpoint the targeted bonus amounts.
13. Is the service free?
  • Our services are centered on designing and building compensation services that are low-cost and attractive for organizations that are looking for effective compensation solutions.
  • Our Basic comp plan delivers on that goal. Companies are more likely to implement sound fundamental compensation principles once they have a source for affordable and practical solutions.
  • However, the report should be considered a solid but preliminary in-depth review of the company’s compensation levels. As compensation programs vary in complexity and scope, further analysis and review of the organization’s compensation program may be warranted. To discuss the application of this report, please contact us at info@bluewhalecomp.com.
14. If we need other compensation services, how are fees structured?
  • Additional compensation services generally are based on the size of the organization and the scope of the services needed. Our fees are typically affordable and competitive as compared to other compensation solutions. We offer full compensation services, including BlueComp, our compensation management system app.
15. I am a consultant -can I register my client?

No. Registrations must be initiated by an authorized agent employed by the organization making the request. Consultants or other service providers, including insurance brokers, attorneys, or those providing outside guidance to the registered organization, may only register a client after entering into a separate written agreement with Blue Whale Compensation Services. For partnership opportunities, contact us at support@bluewhalecomp.com.
